Local 107.3FM Funding Drive 2016: Day One!

Local 107.3FM Funding Drive 2016: Day One!

It’s here; the best time of the year! Funding Drive!

Running this year from October 23-29, the funding drive is Local-FM’s most important fundraising event of the year where we ask you, our listeners and supporters, to show love for independent volunteer-driven media in Saint John.

First off, thank you to all of our generous pre-pledgers who helped us make a dent in our $5000 goal by starting Funding Drive 2016 off with $797.75 in donations! This is already poised to be one of our strongest funding drives ever and we are so ecstatic by the showing of support from our community.

We’re officially kicking it all off on-air today with a full slate of live DJs all day long.

Tune in from 7-10AM for a strong showing of 100% Canadian music and then follow this schedule below for some of the best your local community has to offer:

2-4PM Melancholy Mike’s Mystical Music with Mike McGillivray

4PM Vox Humana with Robert Selby

5-7PM Bedroom Dancing with (double long special!)

7-8PM Rope2Rope with Nick London & Malco Wallace

10-11PM Left of the Dial with Ian Mackinder & Dave Del Rizzo

11PM-midnight Open Arts with Andrew Miller

As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities to donate to live DJs today by calling them in the booth at (506) 648-5925. Outside of this time, pledges can be made by leaving a message at (506) 648-5667 or

Donations can also be made online at or by mail to:

Local 107.3FM
100 Tucker Park Rd.
Saint John, N.B.

A donation of $20 or more is eligible for our new Local 107.3FM Friends Card. Supporters of Local-FM receive a donor card that includes discounts to many local businesses including Port City Royal, Heartbreak Boutique, Decimal 81, Backstreet Records, Real Food Connections, Thandi and Taco Pica.

That’s not all! Donations of $40 or more are not only eligible for the Friends Card, but donors will also receive a newly designed Local 107.3FM t-shirt created by local artist Ellen Higgins.

Last year, funds raised were partially used for a revamp of this very website which includes many new features including a responsive, mobile-friendly design; an integrated live streaming feed; a schedule calendar with mobile calendar integration; and an increase in local content. We hope you love it as much as we do.

Our goal to raise $5000 this year will go primarily towards continuing to raise funds for larger projects including the installation of a transmitter on a new tower. This will greatly increase our broadcasting range within and beyond the Greater Saint John region.

Thank you for your continued support of campus and community radio in the Greater Saint John Area and keep it locked here all week long for updates and amazing volunteer-created broadcasting.
